We need comedies to help us escape from the squawking of Psychopath Donald Trump! And BAD MOMS is the perfect film for us!!
How can we go wrong when the writers: Lucas and Moore wrote the first “The Hangover” movie and wrote and directed the 2013 college rip “21 & Over”. Both films were terrific. Making a comedy about Moms is difficult, almost like making a comedy about religion. However, talented writers can do it.
Mila Kunis stars as Amy, a wife and mother of two living in Chicago. She’s a young mom who got pregnant and married her high school darling (David Walton). Unfortunately, David has turned into low energy slacker. He is more interested in surfing the internet and playing games, then sustaining relations (sexual) with his wife and looking after his family. Amy starts to reach the breaking point of being the “Mom” taking care of children, husband and family.
The school PTA run by Gwendolyn (Christina Applegate) runs endless meetings, which eventually bring other dysfunctional Moms together. The bonding between three worn out Moms bring great power to the screen! All three woman have totally different personalities, but they share a common bond of being broken housewives.
A nice touch is added when a divorced father hooks up with Amy and men can be seen as good people too!
